Here’s tonight’s ramble. We’re sitting in bed, winding down on our phones. I know that many will say that you shouldn’t wind down with your phone, but I’ve found that it helps distract me from some of the other things of the day. I also acknowledge the toxicity that comes with social media in the… Continue reading Dear August

A poem and a little bit of running
My goal this week was to write a poem, and post it here. The heat reminds me the things you can’t see can suffocate you Like ego Like jealousy Like expectations Like fear Like cologne or perfume that was dumped on not spritzed Like stale air from a bad date that you should’ve said no… Continue reading A poem and a little bit of running
Writing reminds me to breathe
I’ve been thinking all week about writing. Often in the most unhelpful places, like the car or the shower. I thought about making lists and why those help. I thought about poems, and I went back and listened to a few of my favorites that I’ve written and performed. My head feels full most of… Continue reading Writing reminds me to breathe
Climbing Out
I looked through my drafts and the last post I was in the middle of writing was about leadership and personality tests. The draft is from September. I skimmed it. It all still made sense. It's also from where I noticed I was starting to check out and burn out from everything. Maybe I'll post… Continue reading Climbing Out
Connecting to Your Legislator: Navigating the Intersection of Health and Politics
Health is inherently political. Bills are created. Legislators discuss issues and ideas presented. And for a small percentage of those bills, policies are made that create regulations. If you're feeling the nostalgia of "I'm just a bill" - you're not alone. I have flashbacks to my 10th grade civics and economics class where the teacher… Continue reading Connecting to Your Legislator: Navigating the Intersection of Health and Politics

This is the first past we've gotten approved while she's gone this year. But this post isn't about my partner or her deployment. It's about the plane rides… Continue reading Free write #3: Body acceptance on planes
4 questions that help work through the anxiety ‘slowing down‘ gives me
What are your biggest challenges? For January WordPress is sharing prompts with bloggers and I thought I would incorporate ones that resonated with me. Slowing down is my biggest challenge. It’s something that I’ve been working on for what seems like my whole adult life. I’ve gotten so much better at slowing down because I’m… Continue reading 4 questions that help work through the anxiety ‘slowing down‘ gives me
Wellness Refocused Education: How to use SMART goals
I love making a plan. For one, it gives me something to be excited about like if I'm prepping for a hike or a trip. In goal setting, it helps me conceptualize the process so I can think about what the finish line could look and long it may take to get where I want… Continue reading Wellness Refocused Education: How to use SMART goals
Embracing The Next Chapter: What I’m taking into the New Year, and the shit I’m leaving behind
In this post, I reflect on the past year, which included travel, the ending of relationships - the beginning of new ones, achievements and personal growth. I confronted doubts, especially when changing career paths. Despite occasional health issues, they maintained a strenuous physical regime. In the new year, the I plan to continue amplifying my voice concerning patient care, persisting with flexibility, and emphasizing the power of small joys.
