Over the years, I’ve learned that everyone has different eating preferences. From taste to textures and smells – our senses play a big role in our diet. So does our schedule, and obviously health goals are influential.

Below are the categories to consider as you’re building your own grocery list:

  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Meat
  • Deli
  • Dairy
  • Breads and Grains
  • Condiments
  • Spices and Extracts

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Do I need snacks?
  2. Do I prefer fresh, frozen or canned items?
  3. Are there textures or tastes I prefer?
  4. How many days or meals am I planning for?
  5. Do I need to eat out of the house this week?
  6. What’s my budget this week/month for food?
  7. Do I need to follow a recipe?
